I bought actual healthy food today and ate almonds and dates for dinner. What is happening??

  • Friend: How did you hurt your leg?
  • Me: I was running from zombies and my friend had just died and adorable British man was sad and I was crying and I didn't see the bush and -
  • Friend: Fine, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to

#StayAliveOctober - Day 20

So my goal was to run 2.5 miles in 30 minutes. Not a very lofty goal, but it would have been a first for me. However, about halfway through, I got a really bad stitch in my side and it didn’t go away for the rest of the run. Consequently, My run time was a little slower than I’d hoped. But it’s still my 2nd best run time ever, so I shouldn’t complain.

I went to Griffith park again, and it’s was a wonderfully overcast morning. Fun fact about me: I love clouds and rain and overcast days. It doesn’t happen much here in California, and it’s especially good for running.

Oh, and for those who don’t know what Griffith Park is: it’s a large plot of land in LA that was donated by some rich guy to be a public park that is absolutely free to enter and use. There’s a large golf course, baseball fields, hiking trails, exercise equipment, horse trails, and a ton of other stuff. It’s right next to the LA Zoo, and the famous Griffith Observatory is at the highest point overlooking all of Los Angeles. Basically, it’s any outdoorsy person’s dream. And it’s about 10 minutes from me.

Who are you? That’s what I want to know.

Come on! Why can’t you say it?

Apparently I am one of the best drivers at my store now, second only to the guy who’s been delivering pizzas for 10 years.

And, apparently, everyone refers to me as “the girl” because I’m basically the only female pizza driver in LA

RIP Clara’s headband- we will never forget you.

My New Obsession

So I started watching this new web series today and I spent at least three hours just laying in bed catching up on every single episode. I wanted to share the show with you all and write down some of my thoughts on it.

The plot is this: A student named Alice decides to improve her understanding of classic novels by living them out in her own life. So far, she’s worked through Crime and Punishment, The Pygmallion, The Butterfly (a short story, but still classic) and is in the middle of Macbeth.

I really like Alice as a character because she’s a lot like me. She’s an overachiever who starts this whole thing because she got a “failing” grade (a.k.a. B-) on an English paper. She’s ridiculously nerdy and you’ll see her bookshelf is filled with works by George RR Martin and Suzanne Collins. At the same time, though, she’s cool and likeable and the other characters respect her.

The social media campaign for the show is really cool too. All the links to their twitter, tumblr, facebook, etc. can be found on their youtube channel. Basically, they create accounts for their characters and tweet/post as those characters throughout the course of the story. They’ve created an entire fictional world that you can be a part of, and it’s really neat.

One of my previous roommates is actually helping with the campaign now, and it would really mean a lot if you could check out the show and let me know what you think!
